Hayley

Hayley. Haylee. Haley. Hailey. Even Hayleigh.

Honestly you name it, my name has been spelled that way. It's just something you get used to when you have the most basic name in America. Besides Emily or Sarah... (sorry if that's your name, but get real sister, you know what I'm talking about). That's why I think it's so funny that I now have a site with someone who has one of these fraud spellings, but who shares my same issue.

Hailey and I became friends through our sorority and eventually grew closer through our classes and interest in similar things (like sports, HA! See it makes sense now). It's cool to get to work with someone who has a similar vision as you, but also brings something so new and different to the table. We both have the exciting job of interns for Texas Tech Athletics and get an insight to the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.

Aside from Hailey, I am originally from Dallas, Texas. Yes, I'm a Cowboys fan and no, I don't care if you disagree, they're America's team. I say Dallas, but for you Dallas people who get offended if the suburbs take claim of your city, I'm actually from Richardson. I was born and raised a Texas Tech fan despite my slight hiccup of devotion to the Longhorns. We blame my dad. Public relations was something I always found interesting and always thought I would be good at. Since getting to college and working through my courses, I've come to find that it's still true. It's different than what I originally anticipated, but I love the plethora of avenues that it offers.

I chose to minor in business, mainly because my uncle said a PR major alone would get me no where (thanks Craig), but it's definitely something I've cherished throughout my time at Tech. I've gained insight to a whole new side of the business sector, financial decisions and how businesses can successfully run.

Then, I decided to add on a sports media certificate, just to keep things interesting. I took a class with Tech alumni and former U.S. Olympic Committee member, Robert Condron, and it peaked my interest in the sport side of communications. Ever since, I've had the opportunity to take classes that give me an insight to sport and the depth of communication that comes with it. I just recently accepted two internships in the sports field. The first with Letterman Sports, a sports marketing firm, and another with Texas Tech Athletics, where I'll get first-hand experience in a variety of fields at my very own school.

Other than school, I have interests in photography, blogging and traveling. Yeah, again, basic. But, these all go hand in hand and continue to keep me exploring new things and making discoveries. Plus, they're just straight up fun. I would say my dream job would definitely be a travel blogger, but until I get there, sports will do.

Hope you got to know a little more about me! Thanks and wreck 'em!
